Pretty sure we were the most bummed out people on the plane heading back to Hawaii. Everyone else seemed like they were excited about paradise or whatever they call it.

Chris and I are pretty sure Hawaii weather is overrated. Sure L.A. has that “smog” thing or whatever, but you can’t really tell unless you’re looking from far away. Otherwise, it’s sunny and awesome in L.A. every. day.

On our last night we went to get more Manny burritos and these girls were giving Chris all kinds of attention because of his Iron Maiden gear. Second time in one trip.

really don’t wanna go back to hawaii.
but anyway, we’re still at the studio every day for about 10 hours a day. yesterday we knocked out vocal tracks for four songs. six more will be done by today. tomorrow we have to be at LAX by 3:30pm and then we’ll be landing in HNL just in time for first friday partying.
manny had me plugged in through this 4 track recorder that Kim Deal from The Breeders/Pixies uses when she’s at the studio. manny made me this magical singing drink made from water, real maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice. we convinced luke i was drinking manny’s urine in order to finish this record. ahah.
chris got super drunk last night for the first time on the trip. he was DDing for us on all of those other nights, so last night he went and drank a whole bottle of scotch with oliver. chris was basically trying to beat us up, smoke his cigarettes backward, and stop his hiccups for over an hour. then he threw up three times this morning. was probably a blast.
we didn’t even get to mix any of the album here in LA. we were so meticulous with the tracking process, and for good reason. manny says we’ll have to email mixes back and forth in order to get it done OR fly out to LA again.
other than being at the studio, we’ve been mostly just crashing out at dans place where dan, kai, and shanelle provide us with pretty good hawaii company. they’ve been trying to take us out to party all week but we’ve been stuck in the studio every day.
anyway.. gonna miss recording. today i’m tracking 6 songs.. hopefully this goes well or it’s back to LA again (is this a bad thing? i’m broke. i dont know.)
